“Manta meets Capri”
The repeat offenders from the drive-in cinema – Ruhrrochen meets Rheinlandrenner!

After bidding farewell together to North Rhine-Westphalia’s oldest drive-in cinema in Cologne in 2024, the legendary Opel Manta and Ford Capri models are meeting up again this time in Essen to celebrate a reunion at what is now North Rhine-Westphalia’s last drive-in cinema. Separated by brand, long united in cult status.
This new asphalt attraction also offers a fitting setting: two racy automotive icons from the Rhine and Ruhr, two German film gems in a double feature, as well as petrol talk accompanied by selected music and delicacies from the snack bar.
As last year in Cologne, a further supporting program is planned and will be announced at a later date.
“Manta meets Capri” on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Doors open at 4 p.m. Starting at 8 p.m., the two films “Manta – Der Film” and “Superstau” from 1991 will be shown.

The front rows in front of the screen are once again reserved for Opel Manta and Ford Capri cars! Other oldies are also welcome, and it is also possible to drive in and participate with modern cars.
